Our Team Is Expanding

Greetings everyone, we are committed to Oxypowerpack more than ever before.

The first thing we are doing is to address all the current support tickets, and added Jaswanth to the team to improve our support system and our communications with you.

So in the next couple of days we might drop a visit to your mailbox 🙂

Hey! Here's an update with important news.

Support Issues

I've been experiencing issues with the helpdesk software I use to provide customer support. A few customers reported that they were unable to submit messages and also I have open tickets where customers just stopped replying. It's been working good now for the last few days, so If you need assistance, or if you haven't got a reply in a few days, please submit a new message.

The only benefit of having a dedicated support software is the ability to see the customer information, including license status, right into the support ticket. I will move to basic email support in the following days to avoid any more issues.

New Features

Promising a visual form builder that works within the Oxygen Builder has been like shooting myself in the foot. It's been very hard to have a decent, stable and actually useful feature but the worst part is that it's affecting the release of other new features.

From today, I'll focus my efforts in new Oxygen elements and improvements for the Interactivity Engine. Basic forms support is still on the roadmap, but probably not as ambitious as planned.

Among the new planned features are AJAX repeater, AJAX search and AJAX login, as well as removing the design set, to make it a separated product. More on that below.

New Products

The current design set will be taken out of OxyPowerPack to create a new plugin. All current single-page designs will be converted to full sites, and each of them will be a separate design set that can be fully imported. To start, three new designs will be created and a new site/design set will be released every week. All this will be managed by a new plugin that will be called OxyDesignPack and will be taken care of by a friend of mine, who has been doing great UX work, so I can continue focus on functionality.

OxyBootstrap is going to add easy Bootstrap integration to Oxygen Builder, including custom elements for all of the bootstrap components and the well known mobile-first responsive engine. Why a separate product? Because I believe it's out of the OxyPowerPack scope

Summarizing, the product family will be composed of:

  • OxyPowerPack - Power elements and features for Oxygen Builder.
  • OxyDesignPack - Full premade sites and building blocks for Oxygen Builder.
  • OxyBootstrap - Bootstrap integration for Oxygen Builder.

What does this mean for current customers? Current customers will get the three products lifetime for free. The store will be moved to riosecostudio.com but you will receive an email with the details on how to access your account.

New Pricing

Since the beginning, OxyPowerPack price was planned to increase. It will remain the same for now, but each product will be sold separately for new customers. So, it is a good idea to buy now and get the other two products when they are released.

Estimated date? Very soon. All this is being sorted out right now so it's matter of a couple of weeks at much to make the switch.

COVID-19 is spreading very fast around the globe, I just hope that you and your family are ok.

It's dangerous, but don't panic: COVID-19 is not as deadly as most people believe, but it is so contagious researchers believe that 70% of the humanity will be infected sooner or later. So, the real problem with COVID-19 is that with so many people infected at the same time, hospitals are collapsing and more people are dying just because of that, and not because the virus alone.

You may be strong, healthy and this disease won't kill you, but you can transmit the virus to someone else. I encourage you to take this seriously and take care of yourself and your family. We are lucky to work on an industry where it is easy to work from home: avoid going outside and wash your hands several times a day.

My apologies for so many eyes injuried by having a different design on each page of the site. We are actively working on a new design that will be applied sitewide. This new design is called "SoftwareOne" and is available as a single-page niche site in the OxyPowerPack design set.

A couple of weeks have passed since the last OxyPowerPack update. I've feeling a lot of unnecessary pressure trying to have a decent Visual Form Builder version ready and that kept me from pushing the regular weekly updates with minor fixes and improvements.

But priorities are being sorted out, and this coming week will be an update with several fixes and enhancements reported by users, and I'm going to manage things to make sure the two most ambitious features (visual form builder and enhancing the interactivity engine) are developed and at the same time release small fixes and enhancements regularly.

The design set is one of the hardest parts to get updated, as I'm not a designer. So, instead of promising regular updates on that, I'll add a niche page ocassionally, as a surprise addition.

The super ultra top priority right now is finishing the documentation, and should be done in the next couple of days (live progress is available right now). Also, now that I'm finally writing, I starter working on a premium tutorial for developers who want to extend Oxygen Builder.

Dear customers: Support will be slower from today until January 2nd. You can still expect a response within 48 hours though.

The Oxygen team released today Oxygen 3.2 Alpha 1 and OxyPowerPack is fully compatible. The use of alpha/beta versions is not recommended on production sites though.

For the techies: The new Pro Menu included in Oxygen 3.2 Alpha 1 is the very first official component developed using Oxygen's undocumented API, the same API that OxyPowerPack uses for the CountDown Timer and the other elements.

So, now we can say that we are using the, still undocumented, but official Oxygen API.

For the people that hasn't noticed it yet, I am running a sale. 40% OFF using the JASONCOMES discount code in the checkout page.

I decided to extend the sale a couple of days, it is now valid until December 17th at 23:59:59, so users benefit from the new feature that will come tomorrow with version 1.0.7, with the sale price.

I wanted to write a post just to say thank you. The initial sales went good and will allow me to continue working full time on the product, adding new features, fixes and pre-made content. Updates for quick fixes are already being delivered via automatic WordPress updates, just make sure to activate your copy in order to receive them. Documentation, examples and support forum are on their way too.

Oh, and you can now pay directly with credit card via Stripe.

As promised, every week will be released a new niche site page in the included design set. You can import the full pages or just grab the sections as building blocks. Currently, OxyPowerPack comes with two niche sites: CoffeeOne and AgencyOne. This screenshot is a sneak peek of next week's addition to the design set, WeddingOne:

WeddingOne niche page, available on December 3rd

Black Friday discount will be available until December 3rd, so there's still time to get it at an excellent price for lifetime access, as I'm planning to change the pricing scheme for new customers when the design set grows enough.

After changing my mind -and domain name- several times, I've decided to stick with "OxyPowerPack". And the features will be added progressively, to ship an initial version faster and continuing building from there.

So, OxyPowerPack is all about adding user requested features to Oxygen Builder, in the form of snippets, hacks, design sets, custom components, etc.

The first set of features will be:

  • The Drawer. The idea behind the drawer is to have a user interface with additional functionalities to avoid losing them or messing with Oxygen Builder UI. The drawer at it's current state is a collapsible panel that can be opened by clicking a floating button at the bottom of the screen. That button can be placed to the left or to the right. The drawer can be docked and it will remain open, blended with the rest of the Oxygen Builder UI. Right now, the drawer has tools for creating pages, renaming them, directly accessing to edit any page, post, template or library block, directly access any WordPress dashboard page, etc.
  • Maintenance Mode. Maintenance mode is a useful feature that will allow developers and designers work on live pages or perform maintenance tasks by shutting down the normal site and only letting users see the configured maintenance page. Maintenance pages, of course, are editable with Oxygen Builder.
  • An event and actions engine that allows designers to create frontend interactions without having to write code or even know JavasScript at all. This is a very ambitious feature that will be launched progressively, with support for variables and conditions for a second phase.
  • Additional components. I have a LOT of ideas for this. Currently what is done are a Countdown Timer component, a Contact Form 7 component, and a couple of non-interactive components.

At the time of writing this, an alpha version is about to be launched for free to all users who signed up. What I want is to have valuable feedback and polish it further before thinking about putting a price on it.
